"I highly recommend Matt Warner as the best health coach out there. Before I went raw (the right way), I was depressed, overweight, had a ton of food allergies, addicted to smoking, and was forcing myself to go to work everyday at a job that had nothing to do with my passions. Did I mention insomnia? I live in California where there is no shortage of a raw community but chose Matt all the way on the opposite coast because not only did his personal story resonate with me but his Socratic style puts him in a class above the rest. With Matt's help, I was able to gain the confidence to turn it all around. In a matter of a month, I quit smoking, lost weight, had the energy again to exercise, my insomnia went away after 4 days, and I quit my job and am now working in a field I am highly passionate about! Thanks Matt." Rachel

Why Am I Selling My Business?

As many  of you know I began my business to promote wellness and self empowerment through a raw food diet. I myself found the raw food diet to be the healthiest, most natural, and most ecologically sound diet available. This realization came through an understanding of the laws of nature and their application to the human body. Upon adopting this diet for myself I found the results to be extraordinary and transformative. Not only did I transform my body inside and out, I was also able to emotionally detach myself from harmful substances and habits that I had carried my whole life. The entire process garnered an entirely new perspective on life and on my place in this world.

My introduction to raw food was the premise of unaltered natural plant foods. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds that were in their raw state, the state that they were created and therefore meant to be consumed. This ideology was my true inspiration and the basis of my passion, however the substance of this idea was, in the beginning, dictated by  the “Raw Food Community”. The “Raw Food Community” is also built on the foundation that  we should be eating fresh plant foods in their natural unaltered, unprocessed, raw state.

The synchronicity of our fundamental beliefs combined with my general lack of knowledge regarding this new way of eating led me to rely on this community to guide me into my new transition. This guidance took the form of a range of raw food cook books,  videos of raw food lectures, and informational texts written by raw food leaders. My initial raw diet was composed in very large part by massive quantities of nuts and seeds, oils, salts, spices, and raw chocolate. My rapid rise to new heights of health and joy far outweighed my sneaking suspicion that this so called raw diet was straying from the fundamental reasons that I chose this way of life.

Even when I started to question some of these products being billed as raw foods, the explanations coming from the information czars of the raw community were very convincing. Not because they had a strong footing in human health science and chemistry, but because they were incredibly appealing explanations that were delivered in a very charismatic manner.

The most effective means for the propagation of this information is the collective sentiment of disdain and distrust for the medical community and the medical model in general. After all that very belief is the reason that most people are seeking a new form of healthcare such as raw food nutrition. This belief has been exploited , whether consciously or unconsciously, to discredit not just the practices of medical doctors, but the very science that is the foundation of any reasonable human health philosophy.

It wasn’t until my own health reached an uncomfortable plateau that I really began to question the science behind these raw food theories, products and practices. How can this many nuts be healthy? How can they be raw if they are able to sit in store bins for months? How can oil be considered unaltered if it is 100% fat? How could an agave leaf produce this kind of syrup without being refined?

These were the questions that I was ignoring for so long, but now I was compelled to find out the truth. Read the rest of this entry »
